1923至1924年间，恩斯特·莱茨公司制造了约25台被称为"0系列"（Null-Serie）的量产前原型相机，作为市场测试用途分发给摄影师。这些相机与Ur-Leica原型同源，配有固定螺口50mm镜头，直接启发了1925年正式量产的徕卡I。如今存世的0系列每一台都是极珍稀的历史文物，其中编号105的一台在2022年以1440万欧元创下相机拍卖世界纪录。
