2009年发布的徕卡M9搭载1800万像素全画幅柯达CCD传感器，首次将全画幅数字传感器塞入经典M机身。M9解决了M8的APS-H裁切问题，让M系镜头重新回归其设计时对应的焦距。M9的CCD传感器色彩渲染独特，被众多摄影师视为最具"胶片感"的数字M机型，尽管CCD腐蚀问题在后来成为困扰用户的顽疾。2011年推出的M9-P是其无商标版本；2012年M240接棒后，CCD平台以换标的M-E延续。

The original M9 launch finish: grey-painted top and bottom plates over a black vulcanite body. Unique to the first-generation M9 and the color most associated with its debut.

玩家选购通病与检查要点
CCD 传感器白斑脱胶与玻璃腐蚀（重中之重）
柯达 KAF-18500 CCD 传感器表面的保护玻璃存在开胶氧化腐蚀通病，收小光圈（f/8或f/11）对着白墙拍摄会出现白色斑点光晕。验机必须查看机身工程菜单或售后单：CCD ID 为 11、15 或 16 代表已更换耐腐蚀玻璃（官方换底通常为 ID 15/16，第三方有 Kolari 换玻璃方案）。未更换过原厂老 CCD 的机身慎入。
主板读写与 SD 卡兼容性
M9 处理芯片较为老旧，对当代超高速大容量 SD 卡兼容性较差。强烈建议使用 16GB/32GB SDHC 格式卡（如 SanDisk Extreme Pro 95MB/s），且必须机内格式化。切忌使用 64GB+ SDXC 或 UHS-II 卡，容易死机甚至烧坏读卡模块。
快门上弦马达声响与底盖触点
测试单张拍摄和延时释放（Discreet）模式下快门马达回旋声音是否清脆均匀。检查底盖微动开关簧片是否接触良好，底盖未严实扣紧将无法开机。
