Leica SL2
CameraLeica L mountMade in Germany201910854
The SL2 (November 2019) doubled down on everything the original SL established. The sensor jumped from 24MP to 47.3MP. The body received 5-axis in-body image stabilisation — a first for Leica. IP54 weather sealing. A high-resolution 5.76M-dot EVF. Dual card slots. And the Leica L-mount, shared with Panasonic and Sigma through the L-Mount Alliance, meaning the SL2 could use an enormous range of lenses from day one.
The SL2 is the camera that signalled Leica's serious intent in the professional mirrorless market. It is not a niche product — it competes directly with the Sony A7R IV and Canon R5 in specifications while offering Leica glass and Leica build quality.
